The only mosiac class where you make your own tiles.
After deciding on your design you start by first cutting shapes out of slabs of wet clay. When those pieces are dried and fired you glaze them using your choice of colors. Next, either smash some of these tiles (if you need to release aggression) or none if your design doesn't call for that technique, arrange and glue them onto an object or board, then grout. Many people have created stunning side tables or movable wall murals. We provide either a 2 ft diam. circle or a 2 ft x 2 ft piece of plywood. You may also bring in your own piece of wood or an object such as a planter.
Check out our student gallery for inspiration. It is surprising to know that many of the mosaics shown were made by sudents who had never done this before!
